Manufacturing Manager

WasteX is a one-stop waste-to-value solution for agricultural producers and farms in Southeast Asia. We help our clients utilize biomass waste, improve productivity, and generate additional income through our proprietary equipment and supporting services.

 

We are a VC-backed climate tech startup headquartered in Singapore with operating teams in the Philippines and Indonesia.

Role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to work alongside the CEO and VP of Technology and Operations in the design, manufacture, testing, and installation of various biomass pyrolysis systems, material handling systems, furnaces, and heat exchangers.

 

The ideal candidate is a licensed engineering professional who has the creativity and the determination to develop various equipment prototypes, place them through rigorous testing, and oversee their fabrication. Based on operational data and client feedback, you are expected to lead new equipment developments or upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines and fabrication equipment at the manufacturing facility and ensure a safe environment for production

  • Establish goals for production, and coordinate a plan to meet those goals

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance

  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements

  • Document the design process, iterations, and test analytics of new equipment developments

  • Prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals

  • Evaluate the final product’s overall performance, reliability, and safety

  • Prepare the budget and costing for equipment development and manufacture

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar field (Master’s preferred)

  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role or related experience

  • Experience with 3D CAD software and/or analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, LS-DYNA, ANSYS FLUENT);

  • Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making

  • Experience in designing agricultural equipment/boilers/heat exchangers and other industry-specific products is a plus

  • Interest in climate tech and a sense of urgency to mitigate climate change

Offer

  • Monthly salary up to Php 40,000 to Php 60,000 depending on experience
